How to Build Better UX Case Studies

A UX case study should tell a story. Instead of simply showing the final interface, guide the reader through the problem and explain how your decisions led to the solution.
Start with the problem
Clearly explain what you were trying to solve and who you were solving it for. A strong problem statement gives the rest of the case study context.
Explain your role
If you worked with a team, explain exactly what you contributed. This helps readers understand your skills and responsibilities.
Show your thinking
Research findings, user flows, wireframes, iterations, and usability testing can demonstrate how your design evolved.
Highlight important decisions
You don't need to document every small change. Focus on the decisions that had the biggest impact on the final experience.
End with outcomes
Whenever possible, include measurable results. If metrics aren't available, explain what you learned and what you would improve in a future iteration.
A good case study isn't a presentation of perfection. It's evidence of how you think and solve problems.
